For Faculty
Set Clear Standards for assignment and grading. Tell students whether they may collaborate and if so, how much.

Be a good role model; cite sources in your lectures.

Provide links to the Code of Student Conduct and the Code of Behaviour on Academic Matters on your course website or within your learning management system.

Clearly explain your expectations.

For Students
If you are not sure how your professor would like a paper cited, ask.

Know the university's policy on academic integrity. If you have questions or what is expected in an assignment ask.

The Internet is full of information and not all of it is common knowledge. Include Internet sources in your bibliography.

Do not procrastinate. Give yourself enough time to complete assignments.

For Teaching Assistants
Discuss issues of integrity with your class, especially those relevant to the course and to students' future careers.

Talk about Academic Integrity with your students. Make sure they understand and provide resources.

Inform your students of the writing centre resources available on campus. Encourage them to seek assistance if they are concerned about their academic writing skills.

Explain why practicing the principles of academic integrity are important in your field/profession, and what the consequences are if these principles are not followed.

For Staff
Provide guidance regarding academic honesty through new student orientation programs and materials and other college information resources.
