Students INTERESTED in one of these courses should READ the following carefully:
These courses provide you with the opportunity to pursue a research topic that interests you.
Most students who take these courses are in their final year, and have a research topic in mind that they have become interested in over the course of their studies. Research courses can cover a wide variety of topics.
Once you have a topic in mind, you need to find a faculty member who is willing and able to supervise your research on that topic.
You will meet with that person on a regular basis throughout the course (usually every one or two weeks), and the two of you together will define the topic, determine due dates, and decide on the grading scheme.
Eileen Antone, he Director of Aboriginal Studies must approve all such courses.
Please feel free to talk with the Director about the project that you have in mind at an early phase of the process.
In order to approve such courses, the FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS REQUIRED AND an email sent to Eileen Antone :
A written description of the goals of the course, the work required, the due dates for each piece of work, and the grading scheme.
Also required is written agreement from the supervisor confirming that s/he is willing to take on the course (e-mail is fine).
Once the course is approved, the Program Coordinator will register you in it.
You are unable to register for these courses yourself.
You are also unable to withdraw from these courses on your own; we must do it for you at your request.
