“U of T Law was the most intellectually challenging thing I’ve done, but also the most satisfying. I knew the program would be competitive, which was one way of challenging myself to do well as an undergrad. I knew I would be around other people who would challenge me and value the same things I valued: excellence and hard work. My fellow students were always engaged in something, whether it was starting a new club or volunteering; it was hard not to be enthusiastic.

“Many of the best experiences I have had at U of T, and certainly some of the most educational moments, have come from the time spent outside of the classroom. Whether it was at Hart House Farm, taking capoeira classes, running exchanges out to reserves, or traveling in Bosnia -- these last four years at U of T have been filled with some exceptional experiences. These moments outside of the classroom, meeting with friends, planning our next project or adventure, these are the moments I will never forget.”

“Over my past four years, I have been able to meet amazing people through both rigorous academic programs such as peace and conflict studies and phenomenal extracurricular experiences in the environmental field. By dedicating my time to these two areas, I have been able to apply the knowledge I gained in the classroom to the world around me, a practice I will continue into the future.”

"I have always aimed to try and improve my school and community through exemplary leadership and participation in various extracurricular activities, as I feel compelled to reciprocate at least a portion of the good fortune that has been bestowed upon me. I believe student involvement, be it on or off campus, is an integral component of achieving the best university experience possible."

Joshua Wong (left) "Getting my Rotman MBA provided the needed skills and opportunities for me to accelerate my career and get the job I wanted. The Rotman MBA helped me grow personally and professionally, especially through the international development study tours and exchange programs. I always enjoyed the rich discussions stemming from the diversity of experience of our classroom, and in the program I've met smart, hardworking people who will certainly be friends for life."
Arash Noori (right) "Coming to Rotman for my MBA, I knew that it was going to be a wild ride. However, I never could have foreseen the amazing opportunities that awaited me. Highlights include a two-week study tour in Latin America, a summer internship with Roshan Telecom in Afghanistan, and finally, landing a full-time position with management consulting firm Booz & Co. Having previously worked as a research engineer after completing my bachelor's and master’s degrees in engineering, I was looking to change the trajectory of my career, and the MBA allowed me to do just that."

"It has been a tremendous privilege to complete my MD degree at the University of Toronto. These last four years have been a lot of hard work but it was a pleasure to share the experience with great classmates under the guidance of supportive faculty. I have a lot of great memories to look back on as I move forward to the next phase of my career."

"The past four years at U of T have given me numerous opportunities, both in and outside of the classroom. During this time, I not only had a chance to complete my MD degree, but also to become involved with various university and community programs, such as the IMAGINE health initiative and medical education reform. I've also been fortunate to be in a great class that was close knit and enjoyed having a good time throughout our four years. Looking back, I'm glad I made the decision to come to Toronto and I look forward to continuing my training here at U of T in general surgery."

"My four years in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering have been full of learning, challenge and success. In the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry I have had the opportunity to work alongside faculty as a summer researcher and in my fourth year thesis, I have collaborated with students in numerous projects including plant design which is the capstone design course. I have engaged with staff through my extracurricular involvements in Chem Club and UnERD (Undergraduate Engineering Research Day). During my undergraduate career, I have learned about process design and control, bioengineering, reactor design and learned about leadership, working in teams and effective communication. All of this knowledge and skill will undoubtedly be essential in my toolbox as an engineer. |
