arts-informed is an interdisciplinary, scholarly journal that offers opportunities to explore the role of the arts in qualitative social science research. Published twice a year, arts-informed is guided by an Advisory Board consisting of advanced graduate students, graduates of the Centre, and international scholars who value, proclaim, and exemplify the place of arts in researching. The journal presents scholarly works that variously address, reflect, illustrate, analyze, or describe the role of the arts (broadly defined) in qualitative research methodologies. Works about and / or including literary, visual, performing, mixed, and new media arts across a range of disciplines explore perspectives, methodologies, processes, examples, and issues related to the arts in / as research.
Each issue of arts-informed contains full-length articles (or other conceptions of scholarship with a maximum of 7500 words or the equivalent of 25 pages), short stand-alone pieces (such as poetry, short prose, images, notes the equivalent of 1-2 pages), and book reviews (750 words maximum). All full-length articles are reviewed by at least three scholars.
Barring exceptional circumstances, text-based components of manuscripts are to be formatted in Word following APA guidelines for references and punctuation.
